What are IRL Keys?
IRL Keys are an in-app reward count that tracks your participation across invite-only events. You earn Keys by doing the things the app is built around — pre-connecting with other attendees, checking in at a venue, and completing a Lock-In with someone you meet in person. Keys never cost real money. They are not a currency, they are not redeemable for cash, and they cannot be purchased.
How do I earn IRL Keys?
- +5 Keys when you and another attendee form a Pre-Connection before the event (mutual accept of a Signal).
- +3 Keys when you Check In at the venue inside the event geofence.
- +20 Keys to each person when you complete a Lock-In at the event (both people enter the same 4-digit PIN to confirm you met in person).
Your running Keys balance appears on the Profile screen along with your total Lock-Ins and a History view of every action that earned Keys.
What can I do with my IRL Keys?
Tap Redeem on the Profile screen to see the rewards catalog — items like skipping a future waitlist, a venue drink credit, VIP entry, or access to a private room at a future event. Redemption is fulfilled by our venue and event partners after the event, not by an in-app purchase. Tapping a reward in this version shows a confirmation that redemption opens after the prototype phase. Your Keys stay on your account.
What is a Lock-In?
A Lock-In is the moment you confirm you actually met another attendee in person. Each of you sets a 4-digit PIN in your profile. When you meet, you exchange PINs and enter each other's PIN in the app. When both sides match, the Lock-In is confirmed and both of you earn 20 Keys. PINs only work inside an event you're both checked in to.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app → Profile tab → scroll to Danger zone → tap Delete account → type DELETE → tap Delete forever. Your account, profile, registrations, check-ins, Signals, Pre-Connections, Lock-Ins, and Keys ledger are permanently removed.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, choose “Email me a 6-digit code instead” and we'll send a one-time login link. Reset your password from Profile once signed in.
The check-in says I'm not at the venue.
Check-in uses your phone's location to confirm you're inside the event geofence. If you're at the venue but the app can't confirm your location, make sure Location permission is set to “While Using the App” in Settings → Privacy → Location Services → 1% IRL, then reopen the event and try again.
How do I report another attendee?
Open the other person's profile from the attendee list and tap the “Report” option, or email brendanarmstrong92@gmail.com with the event name and the display name of the person. We review every report and can remove a user from an event or from the platform.
