Privacy Policy

Stage Reel is a vertical micro-series streaming app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it.
What we collect
- Account info: email address, password (stored hashed), display name and profile photo you choose.
- Watch history: which episodes you started, where you stopped, which you finished. Used to power Continue Watching and to recommend what to watch next.
- Likes and saves: series you've liked, episodes you've saved to Library.
- Community activity: messages you post in series chat rooms.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP, app version, device type) for security and debugging. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs in v1.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not train AI models on your watch history or messages.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not track you across other apps.
How we use what we collect
- Operate the product: pick up where you left off, surface shows you might like, route chat messages to series rooms.
- Improve recommendations (aggregate, anonymized counts of what episodes get watched and finished).
Video playback
Video is delivered via Mux. Mux receives the playback request and the episode ID. Mux does not receive your account email or profile content. Mux's privacy practices are described at mux.com/privacy.
Data retention
We keep your account and content while your account is active. When you delete your account from inside the app (Profile → Delete account), we immediately and permanently remove your profile, photo, watch history, likes, library, and chat messages. There is no soft-delete or 30-day grace period.
Children
Stage Reel is rated 12+. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13.
Where data lives
Account data is stored on Supabase (Postgres) in the US East region. Profile photos are stored in Supabase Storage. Video is streamed from Mux.
